Amazing....

Has it been awhile since you picked up your Bible?  

Has it been awhile since you spent any real amount of time with God?  

Isn't it interesting that we can spend a good two hours watching a movie, but at the thought of spending two hours with God (independently--not at church) we suddenly have more important things to do.  Or, we can spend 30 minutes complaining--when 30 minutes in prayer could change our entire outlook.  

Has it been awhile since you stood in awe and wonder of God? 

He's still there.  

Go outside---look up at the sky--look at the vastness of who He is.  He is everywhere, all the time.  He holds the universe in place--your problems are in good hands. 

Oh and that hand that reaches out to you?  It's a pierced hand, so He knows your troubles, He knows your pain.  He knows exactly what you need.  

We often forget that don't we?  

Just now, as I was typing this--Matthew came into the room and told me he was worried about something.  I asked him if he told God he was worried about it.  He said no, and prayed right then and told God about it.  Wow!   Childlike faith.  We adults carry our worries around, never telling the only One who can actually bear them.  Exhausting.  And, it doesn't have to be. 

God doesn't give up on us.  Do we believe that?  

We have our doubts sometimes don't we?  And with doubts, comes distance.  God feels far away.  Which is why He draws near to us, because we are so prone to wander.  He's the One who fills up the space between us and Him.  Amazing.  Amazing that we have a God who so desires to have a relationship with us.  Perhaps even more amazing?---the fact that we could have a relationship with an Almighty God, and we choose not to.
